Police responding to reports of shots
fired today inside the YWCA office in Manchester, New Hampshire
discovered two bodies - but said the public is not in any danger. Officers
with guns drawn surrounded the YWCA building in Manchester, and a
tactical team was called to assist after a caller reported at 10 a.m.
that shots had been fired.

reports that a man shot and killed an eight-year-old child before
taking his own life. Lt. Maureen Tessier, a Manchester police
spokeswoman, declined to confirm that to The Associated Press. On Sundays, the YWCA is open for
supervised child visitation and custody exchanges. Police confirmed
there were others inside the building when the shots were fired. The
bodies were found in an office area.
The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office and the Manchester Police Department are investigating. Manchester is the largest city in northern New England with nearly 110,000 residents. Manchester Police Chief David Mara told News 9 the scene should return to normal sometime Sunday afternoon. 'I can tell you that there is no public safety threat at this time,' said Mara.
On Sundays the YWCA is open for supervised child visitation and custody exchanges.
